Project: Manual Handling Assessments in Polymer Manufacturing Company
Client: British Vita
Investigation into the manual handling risks associated with production activities at numerous sites across the UK and Europe. The project remit was to assess the manual handling risk associated with production operations (excluding maintenance) at each plant against UK Regulatory requirements and best practice and to identify the risk factors that should be the primary focus for remedial action.
Project: Understanding the Behavioural Aspects of Cable Strike Incidents
Client: May Gurney
A study was conducted for a North West based utilities company into the high number of cable strikes during digging operations. Investigations were carried out into the behavioural aspects of the problem including site visits to observe behaviours and to hold discussions with gangs/teams. A suite of actions to address the identified issues were identified.
Project: Development of User Requirements & Work Flows for Various Design Projects
Client: Unilever
Working with the users to define requirements for the design of a variety of laboratory and office environments within a global pharmaceutical company. The focus of the work was to maximise the use of the space whilst ensuring that it met the requirements of the users. Worked with the architect on behalf of the client to ensure the user requirements were fully reflected in the final design.
Project: Review of Incident & Near Miss Reporting Systems across the NHS in Scotland
Client: NHS QIS
Review of incident and near-miss systems in place across Scotland with a view to working towards the best practice found already within the NHS, NPSA and from other industries. The project consisted of system and documentation reviews, usability interviews and a cultural survey, the results of which were used to make recommendations for system improvement.
