Environmental and Social Impact Assessments are conducted to ensure that legal, social and company requirements for new developments or process are complied with. Right from the start, ARC engineers can assist with feasibility studies and front end design. Working with the client to prepare the project description, ARC environmental specialists will then go on to identify and assess the potential environmental and social impacts of the project. Our approach emphasizes risk reduction, mitigation and management of residual risk. ARC provides achievable action plans to ensure that the ESIA is more than a report submitted to regulators and/or group for approval, but provides a risk management tool from design, to construction through to project completion and decommissioning.
The ARC ESIA team can organize public meetings and have the capability to provide expert witness in the event an ESIA goes to public enquiry. ARC will also assist in any related permitting requirements.
Environmental statements with regard to internal or external processes and activities are done for those companies that do not require a full Environmental and Social impact. In addition to Environmental Statements, ARC offers a review service for environmental related reports and other documentation. ARC can also offer expert HSE data verification services to ensure and underwrite accuracy of data reflected in performance reports and statements.
Feasibility studies and design
ARC provides expert environmental Engineering support to feasibility studies and front end design. ARC can undertake BPEO and BATNEEC studies for example, from air stacks to discharge pipes, pipeline integrity, tank design, offshore installations or on land construction.
Baseline surveys and review
ARC experts can undertake baseline surveys to include: air quality, water quality, flora and fauna, and NORM surveys.
Environmental and social impact evaluation
The environmental and social impacts of the project are assessed using internationally recognized methodology. ARC have in house capabilities for stack and fugitive emissions prediction modelling and waste water dispersion modelling.
Assessment and managing risk
The mitigation measures are clearly defined in management action plans. These can be incorporated directly into project HSE plans to ensure efficient timely delivery.

Where public consultation is required ARC will organize public meetings and can prepare summary environmental and social statements.
